A Palestinian villager was killed in Gaza by Israeli soldiers in Jabaliyah camp, the second one since the ceasefire was issued. Palestinians said Israeli tanks also bombed the houses here.

Israeli army was planning to complete the withdrawal process until the inauguration speech of Barack Obama at 7 p.m Turkish time, which was interpreted by experts as Israel’s desiring a soft start with the new President.

Meanwhile, people rushed to the shelters in the south of Israel after alarm bells tolled, which later understood to be a false alarm.

UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon left for Gaza to examine the region.

Having been able to cross the border after 30 minutes of passport check, the Secretary General became the highest ranking official to have visited Gaza since Hamas came into power in 2007.

Ban Ki-moon described the situation in Gaza heart-wrenching and called Hamas and Israel on abiding by the ceasefire.

Having been worn a body armor, Ban Ki-moon visited UN Center that was hit by Israel. Previously, more than 40 Palestinians were killed by Israeli attacks in the center.

Israel killed more than 1,300 people, 400 of them children in its weeks-long attacks into the Gaza Strip.

Corpses are still dug out of the rubbles in Gaza.

People in the region are looking for some materials among the ruins to survive.
