IHH to visit 60 countries in Ramadan
As we are preparing to embrace for another month of Ramadan, we present our endless thanks to God. Having reached another month of Ramadan chills us to the skin. The entire Muslim world is hustling to grasp the essence of Ramadan, in which God have mercy on humankind and blesses us with His countless bounties. God says He will shows vast clemency during this month, and we will try to refrain from committing sin, a feeling that exists in the essence of humankind, with fasting, alms giving and praying for our brothers and sisters. We will cleanse ourselves, our family and our brothers and sisters with remorseful tears and turn over a new leaf.

Ramadan is a good chance for a fresh start. Muslim should never lose hope in God. We as the IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation will spread around the world to inculcate hope with the means of Ramadan. Renewing oneself for fresh starts and never falling in despair should be our guide. We will meet our brothers and sisters who have been left to oblivion in refugee camps for over a half century, who are suffering from fear and sorrows caused by wars, who have lost their close relatives to natural disasters and who are always facing troubles, destitution and misery, and will speak and cry out hope. The IHH was founded to be hope for the aggrieved and it should be source of hope so that humanity can believe tortures, poverty and wars will end someday and justice will prevail.

This month provides us with an invaluable opportunity. Just like in previous years we will again meet people from different climates. Last year we visited 47 countries and 32 cities in Turkey, and shared the blessings of Ramadan with thousands of people. We are planning to visit more countries and cities this year. From Latin America to Far East, from Africa to the inner regions of the Caucasia and from Central Asia to the Balkans, in 60 countries and 50 Turkish cities; we will show that we Muslims are part of a whole with fast-breaking dinners, food packages and by helping orphan children, the poor, the homeless and the respectful old in refugee camps. We will take them your greetings and prayers, and bring in return their greetings and prayers.

The foundation will prioritize orphan children in this year’s Ramadan activities. To this end, we particularly chose 30 countries where the IHH is carrying out orphan relief works to visit during Ramadan. We will meet the orphans staying at IHH orphanages or with their families in these countries. We will make them forget the absence of their parents. Orphans will be our priority in food package delivery and fast-breaking dinners. We will please them with clothes at feasts (Eids), toys, by providing educational tools and materials and meeting their other needs, and entrust them to God.

Just like in previous years, the IHH will again visit the remotest parts of the Earth; at the coasts of oceans, in the Himalayas, vast deserts and dark rain forests. In Palestine, Iraq, Lebanon, Chechnya and Somali, where wars rage on; disaster-stricken Pakistan, Kashmir and Aceh; hunger and drought-hit Ethiopia, Burkina Faso, Chad and Niger in the heart of Sahara; in Bulgaria, Albania, Bosnia and Kosovo, our neighbor countries where missionary activities are widespread; in Brazil, Bolivia and Surinam, where we have forgotten Muslim brothers and sisters. We will visit our brothers and sisters in Cuba, Turkmenistan, Vietnam and Laos for the first time.

We will have a joyful Ramadan in Turkey too. The IHH will organize food package deliveries and fast-breaking dinners for the poor and needy people in 50 different cities. Our mobile kitchen will deliver fast-breaking dinners in tens of cities from the East of the country to the West. Just like in overseas programs, in domestic fast-breaking programs orphans will enjoy priority as well. We will visit orphan children sheltered at state-owned shelter houses and those staying with their families; help and please them with clothes and shoes on the feast day, distribute bag and stationery materials for the upcoming school period.

Our goal for this year is to observe fasting of Ramadan with 750,000 Muslims in different countries and share their delight and grief. Hoping the support of benevolent Turkish citizens, we will spread over the world during this year’s Ramadan to disseminate the good and charity as well as take your greetings to needy Muslims and bring their prayers to you.

You can also join joy of Ramadan worldwide by donating a food package that costs 50 new Turkish liras with your alms.
